Herbal Gathering Spell No. 2. 4th Century AD
In my previous article, I shared a ritual for harvesting herbs from the same manuscript, Supplément grec. 574. While the former method was more priestly or sacerdotal—incorporating medical elements—this one is more aggressive and purely magical.

The method is originally named "βοτανηαρσις"—"botaniarsis," derived from "βοτάνη" (herb, plant) and "αἴρω" (to gather).
Translation
[Perform this method] before sunrise.
The words to be spoken are:
I pluck you, O plant1, with my five fingers2, I, (name), and I bring you home so that you may serve me for a specific purpose3. I adjure you by the immaculate names4 of God, that if you do not comply, the earth that brought you forth shall never again be moistened for as long as I live, should I fail in this matter—Mautabar, Nach, Barnachoha, Braeo, Menda, Laubraasse, Fasfa, Bendeo5! Accomplish this work perfectly for me!
