Иехуия и Лехахия
Iekhuiya i Lekhakhiya are a paired angelic formula — two names of the 72 shemhamphorash angels bound into a single operative sigil. In Hebrew, Iehuiiah (יהעיה) means “The Lord is my foundation”; Lehachiah (להחיה) means “The merciful God” or “God who preserves those in danger.” Together they govern the safe firm grounding of created force: the first name supplies the foundation, the second the preservation of the contract within it.
Position on the Tree of Life
This pair corresponds to the 9th Sephirah, Yesod (the Foundation). Yesod is the lunar bridge between the astral realm (Hod and Netzach) and the physical kingdom of Malkuth. As a paired angelic gate operating from Yesod, Iekhuiya i Lekhakhiya represent the technical procedure by which a coin talisman is poured — charged in the astral, then solidified into physical matter without leakage or corruption.
Astrological and planetary correspondence
Yesod is ruled by the Moon. Within the 72 angelic scheme, Iehuiiah is the angel of the first 5° of Cancer (the Moon’s own decan), and Lehachiah rules the following 5°. Thus the pair aligns with the waxing crescent moon — a time of sealing vows and beginning growth cycles. The “Coin” row classifies them as a formula for stabilizing wealth, contract, or foundation under fluctuating lunar forces.
Historical context
The pairing derives directly from the Book of the Angel Raziel (Sefer Raziel HaMalakh), a medieval grimoire that organized the 72 angels of the shemhamphorash into functional tables for amulet-making and practical kabbalah. By the 16th century, these angel-pairs were absorbed into the Latin Steganographia of Trithemius and later into the Renaissance magical compilation of Cornelius Agrippa. In the 1904 Liber 777, Crowley systematized them as a polarised formula: the pair works together as a single coin-sigil because the first angel grounds, the second preserves — a necessary binary in material magic.
Iehuiiah is also invoked in some traditions for protection from falling objects, car accidents, and structural collapse, while Lehachiah governs legal clarity and the endurance of written agreements. In the grimoires, their joint seal is drawn as two interlaced lunar crescents around a central circle — the primal symbol of the coin-mold.
In Liber 777, this pair appears at scale step 9 (Yesod) of the table row “Pairs of Angels ruling Coins,” placed in the column of the same category. They are the sole Yesodic entry in that row, and their paired function is to anchor astral contract into stable physical form under the Moon’s mutable influence.
