In Hebrew, Iehuiiah (יהעיה) means “The Lord is my foundation”; Lehachiah (להחיה) means “The merciful God” or “God who preserves those in danger.” Together they govern the safe firm grounding of created force: the first name supplies the foundation, the second the preservation of the contract within it.

By the 16th century, these angel-pairs were absorbed into the Latin Steganographia of Trithemius and later into the Renaissance magical compilation of Cornelius Agrippa. In the 1904 Liber 777, Crowley systematized them as a polarised formula: the pair works together as a single coin-sigil because the first angel grounds, the second preserves — a necessary binary in material magic.

Iehuiiah is also invoked in some traditions for protection from falling objects, car accidents, and structural collapse, while Lehachiah governs legal clarity and the endurance of written agreements. In the grimoires, their joint seal is drawn as two interlaced lunar crescents around a central circle — the primal symbol of the coin-mold.
