The Revolutions of ינדא in Assiah · Netzach

יאנד

יאנד is a permutation of the Tetragrammaton, identified with the form Yand. In the context of the 231 Gates of permutation, this sequence represents a specific vibrational pattern of the four letters יהוה (Yod-He-Vav-He). The name itself is read as Yod-Aleph-Nun-Dalet, a grammatically and mystically significant transformation of the Divine Name linked to the sphere of Netzach—Victory or Endurance.

Position on the Tree of Life

This particular permutation corresponds to the seventh Sephirah, Netzach, on the Tree of Life. Netzach is the sphere of Venus, representing the formative power of nature, elemental forces, and the sustaining impulse of victory through beauty and harmony. יאנד is therefore the active formula that governs the ‘Revolutions’ of the name in the material world (Assiah) at this level—binding spirit to matter in a pattern of cyclical energy.

Astrological and planetary correspondence

As a Netzach formula, יאנד is associated with Venus. This is not merely the planet of love, but the alchemical Venus which represents the binding and dissolving forces in nature, the ‘mother of forms.’ The permutation here is said to govern the revolutions or cycles of manifestation that Venus oversees in the physical world (Assiah).

Historical context

The system of permutations of the Divine Name is a central practice in the Jewish mystical tradition of Kabbalah, particularly in the school of Isaac Luria (the Ari). The 231 Gates—derived from the permutations of the 22 Hebrew letters—are pathways through which the sefirotic energies flow.

This specific permutation, יאנד, occurs as part of the text Liber 777, compiled by Aleister Crowley. Crowley took the traditional Kabbalistic sequences and arranged them into tables of correspondences, linking each permutation of YHVH to specific sephiroth, worlds, and magical formulas. In this table, יאנד is the ‘Revolutions of ינדא in Assiah’—meaning it is the name that turns through the four worlds of Kabbalah (Atziluth, Briah, Yetzirah, Assiah) specifically in its Assiatic form, i.e., the manifestation in the densest plane of existence.

Closing

In table 777, column CII of the row, יאנד is the magical formula for Netzach in Assiah—the controlling permutation for the Venusian current in the world of action. It is to be intoned and meditated upon when working with the forces of nature, endurance, and the binding of spirit within form.
