Right Lower Point

The Right Lower Point is one of the six primary terminal points on the diagram of the Qabalistic Tree of Life, specifically the lower right-hand node at the base of the Pillar of Mercy. It is the terminus of the sequence of paths that run down the right side of the Tree, and its position corresponds to the final descent of the active, expansive forces into the material world. In the classic diagram, this point is the gateway through which the energy of the 14th Path enters the sphere of Malkuth.

Position on the Tree of Life

The Right Lower Point is situated at the bottom of the Pillar of Mercy, opposite the Left Lower Point at the bottom of the Pillar of Severity. It is the lower extremity of Path 14, the path of the Hebrew letter Heh. While it is not a Sephirah (being instead a geometric node), it marks the point where the three lower Sephiroth—Netzach, Hod, and Yesod—are aligned in the lower face of the Tree. The point is also the lower terminus of the paths from the 13th (Botton Point) and 12th (Left Lower Point) positions.

Astrological and planetary correspondence

As the terminal point of the Path 14, the Right Lower Point is indirectly associated with the astrological sign Aries, the planetary correspondence of that path. More directly, because it is the base of the Pillar of Mercy, it partakes of the character of that pillar: the assertive, outward-moving, fiery nature of the Sun and the masculine principle.

Historical context

The six points (Top, Bottom, Right Upper, Right Lower, Left Upper, Left Lower) are a geometric feature of the Tree of Life diagram as it appears in the Western esoteric tradition, particularly in the Hermetic Qabalah. They are not found in the original Jewish Kabbalistic diagrams but emerged in the Renaissance magical and Hermetic recensions of the text. The points originated as necessary markers in the 32 Paths of Wisdom—the paths connecting the Sephiroth. The Right Lower Point occurs in the diagram to provide a vertex for the intersection of the 12th, 13th, and 14th Paths.

In the works of Athanasius Kircher (and later in the diagrams used by the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn) the Tree is drawn with 32 numbered paths, eleven of which end at these peripheral points. The Right Lower Point is consistently numbered as the 14th path because that path is the one whose terminus is that exact node. In the modern Qabalistic tradition, this point is associated with the letter Heh and the sign Aries, as well as the symbol of the Pentagram in certain planetary astrological attributions.

Closing

In the context of Liber 777, the Right Lower Point appears as the 14th path (the 'bar' of the table), representing the fixed point of the right lower corner of the Tree, a static but critical node. It is the junction where the active, creative forces of the 14th path meet the manifest world.
