In the geomantic tradition, Anael is the intelligence of the figure Populus, which represents crowds, gatherings, and the collective—a fitting symbol for an angel of social harmony. Later ceremonial magicians, such as those in the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, retained Anael’s Venusian attribution, often placing it on the 14th path of the Tree of Life.
