Bahimiron
Bahimiron (בהמירון) is the singular Qliphothic order assigned to Path 28 of the Tree of Life. The name derives from Behēmāh (בהמה), the Hebrew word for "beast" or "cattle," with the suffix -iron typically denoting an angelic or demonic collective in Kabbalistic nomenclature. Bahimiron thus designates a demonic host of bestial, animalistic forces, representing the raw, instinctual nature of the qlippothic realm unmediated by intellect or spirit.
Position on the Tree of Life
Bahimiron occupies Path 28, which connects Netzach (Victory, sphere of Venus) to Hod (Splendor, sphere of Mercury) on the Pillar of Severity. This path is assigned to the planet Mercury (or sometimes to the zodiacal sign Scorpio in certain Kabbalistic arrangements, though in Liber 777 it follows the planetary assignment). The Qliphoth of Path 28 thus perverts the receptive intelligence and communication of Mercury into chaotic, unbridled bestial expression. While the angelic order of this path is the Beni Elohim (Sons of the Gods), Bahimiron represents the demonic inversion of those powers into primal, irrational force.
Astrological and planetary correspondence
As Path 28 falls under the planetary correspondence of Mercury in the 777 system (following the sequential ordering from Path 12 through Path 32), Bahimiron may be understood as the qlippothic manifestation of Mercurial energy—specifically, the degeneration of cunning, speech, and communication into mere animal cunning, meaningless noise, and instinctual trickery. Some Hermetic sources also link this path to the element of Air through Mercury, giving Bahimiron an association with chaotic winds and the formless, howling voices of beasts.
Historical context
The order of Bahimiron appears in a lineage of Qliphothic lists that crystallized in late medieval and Renaissance Kabbalah, particularly through the works of Moses Cordovero and later in the Lurianic tradition of the "husks" (kelipot). The systematic ordering of thirty-two qliphothic paths, mirroring the thirty-two paths of the Sepher Yetzirah, is—like much of the 777 system—a synthesis derived from these earlier sources, often filtered through the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and the subsequent work of Aleister Crowley and Israel Regardie.
Bahimiron is listed alongside other -iron orders (e.g., Thagiriron, A'abiriron) that populate the lower paths, each representing a specific perversion of the Sephirah or path's spiritual principle. These names are largely drawn from or inspired by the annotations and tables of the Greater Key of Solomon, the writings of Johann Reuchlin, and the Zoharic passages on the kelipot. Bahimiron specifically does not appear in early Talmudic or Heikhalot literature; its emergence is a product of systematic later Kabbalistic demonology.
Closing
In table 777, column VIII (Orders of Qliphoth), row 28, this order appears with the simple name "Bahimiron" and no further annotation. The page offers its bestial correspondence as the nether opposite of the divine angels ruling Mercury and the intelligence of Path 28.
