Orders of Qliphoth · Tiphereth

Thagiriron

Thagiriron (תגירירון) is the Order of Qliphoth assigned to the sixth Sephirah, Tiphereth, on the inverted Tree. Its name derives from a Hebrew root suggesting “dispute,” “strife,” or “contentiousness,” reflecting the nature of this sphere as a counterfeit of Tiphereth’s harmony and beauty—a realm of arrogant display, spiritual vanity, and the seduction of appearances without substance.

Position on the Tree of Life

Thagiriron occupies the Qliphothic station corresponding to Tiphereth, the central Sephirah of balance and beauty on the Tree of Life. In the demonic counterpart, this position represents a perversion of solar radiance: a blinding, self-absorbed glory that masks inner corruption. It is the sixth of the ten infernal Sephiroth, following Golachab (Geburah) and preceding A’arab Zaraq (Netzach).

Astrological and planetary correspondence

In the system of Liber 777, Thagiriron is linked to the Sun, the celestial body of Tiphereth. This correspondence emphasizes the solar attributes of pride, ostentation, and the deceptive allure of power and light divorced from wisdom or compassion.

Historical context

Thagiriron appears in the Qliphothic schema systematized in the late medieval and Renaissance Kabbalistic traditions, particularly in works such as the Zohar and later in the writings of Isaac Luria. The name is constructed from the root t-g-r (תגר), meaning “strife” or “contention,” with the suffix -iron common to many Qliphothic orders (e.g., Golachab, Samael). This order is associated with the demonic forces that embody the corruption of beauty into vanity, and of harmony into discord. In the grimoire tradition, Thagiriron is invoked as a sphere of false enlightenment, where the magician may be tempted by hollow visions of grandeur. The 19th-century occult revival, particularly through the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn and later Aleister Crowley’s Liber 777, codified Thagiriron as the Qliphothic order of Tiphereth, listing it in the column of the Orders of Qliphoth alongside other infernal spheres.

In the table of Liber 777, Thagiriron appears as the entry for the sixth step of the Orders of Qliphoth column, corresponding to the Sephirah Tiphereth. It is the name given to the demonic order that rules the sphere of false beauty and contentious pride, standing as a warning against the seduction of spiritual vanity.
