Pathjoins 1–6

Pathjoins 1–6 is the formula of the twenty-second path on the Tree of Life, the direct connection between Kether (1) and Tiphereth (6). As a numeric glyph, it represents the unmediated descent of the Crown's pure will into the heart of the Microprosopus, bypassing the intermediate sephiroth of the Middle Pillar.

Position on the Tree of Life

This path corresponds to the twenty-second scale step (Path 22) on the Tree of Life. It is the central axis of the upper triad, linking the first emanation (Kether) directly to the sixth (Tiphereth), and thus forms a vertical channel of influence that does not pass through Chokmah, Binah, or the abyss.

Astrological and planetary correspondence

In the system of Liber 777, Pathjoins 1–6 is attributed to the twenty-second path, which is governed by the planet Jupiter. Jupiter's expansive, beneficent, and kingly nature aligns with the function of this path: the transmission of the highest creative will (Kether) into the harmonizing center of the microcosm (Tiphereth). The path thus carries the quality of mercy and authority, a direct ray of the divine king.

Historical context

The concept of a direct path between Kether and Tiphereth appears in early Kabbalistic diagrams of the Tree of Life, where the thirty-two paths are enumerated. The Zohar and later Lurianic texts discuss the flow of light through the sephiroth, but the specific identification of Pathjoins 1–6 as the twenty-second path is a development of the Hermetic Qabalah, particularly in the work of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. In their system, each path is assigned a Hebrew letter and a corresponding Tarot trump; Path 22 is attributed to the letter Tav (ת) and the card The Universe (or The World). This card symbolizes the synthesis and completion of the great work, reflecting the path's role as the final link in the upper triad and a conduit for the highest spiritual influence to reach the central sphere of beauty and sacrifice. The path is also associated with the element of Saturn in some contexts, but the 777 table consistently places it under Jupiter, emphasizing its role as a channel of royal, expansive power.

In the table of Liber 777, Pathjoins 1–6 appears at the twenty-second scale step, where its primary correspondence is the direct connection between Kether and Tiphereth, a line of force that is both the most abstract and the most central of the paths on the Tree of Life.
